from San Francisco where his sister lived he said. I like the downtown and almost rented a room there once. It was a nice place on the third floor, a writer's paradise I thought. It was a lot of money for me at the time but the city was the main barrier, it was so huge it made me dizzy. I had the same feeling in Seattle. Later I found out that near too much water is an ecosystem difficult for me. I like a lot of land around me, stretches of it as far as one can imagine it seems. But I do imagine writing there, it's part of changing the past. Or it is the writer's prerogative! Either way San Francisco can figure strong in my mind and heart.
